Three mission schools get govt aid

THREE Christian mission schools received RM450,000 in financial aid from the Education Ministry to repair and upgrade facilities.

SMK St Joseph and SK St Joseph will each receive RM200,000 and SK Sacred Heart RM50,000, said Sabah Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Ismail.

He said the allocation was approved following a visit by ministry officials to the schools in August to inspect its physical condition and
facilities needed.

The repair and upgrading work would start once the schools' management had prepared the project paper to carry out the work according to priority needs, said Abdul Rahim who is also Pantai Manis State assemblyman.

He said the allocation bore testimony to the Government's commitment to help all schools regardless of their stream to upgrade infrastructure and providing a conducive teaching and learning environment for students. - Bernama.
