For sometime now, it has become increasingly evident that the facilities
in Assunta are inadequate to cater to the needs of the 2,400 pupils enrolled
here.
The School, which over the years has gained a reputation of high academic
achievement and strong moral values, needs urgently to build new facilities
if it is to continue to equip the young women here with the skills to meet
the challenges posed by the new knowledge based economy. As a former
mission school, the school is not fully Government funded, but is categorised
as a "sekolah bantuan modal" or Government aided school. This means
that for many needs including building projects, the school would have
to find its own funds.
The PIBG together with the Board of Governors of the School headed by the
School's founder, Sister Enda Ryan, FMM, has therefore embarked upon a
project to raise RM1.5 million to build a new 4-storey block in the school.
I would be extremely grateful if you could consider making a donation,
however small, to this worthy project. You may complete the form and send
your cheque directly to the school or through members of the Parents Teachers
Association (PTA). Tax exempt receipts will be issued in due course.
