- St Clare of Assisi’s Turkana Homecraft Centre (SCATH), run by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, is in Kakuma located within Rift Valley Province (North-West of Kenya).
- SCATH Centre comes under the Diocese of Lodwar. Kakuma is 119km from Lodwar and 1,000 km from Nairobi.

Kakuma borders Uganda on the west, Sudan on the northwest & Ethiopia on the northeast. Refugees from these countries are housed at the UN Kakuma Refugee Camp.
