Our family includes parents, foster parents, counsellors and volunteers who look after the children's social and economic welfare to prepare them for their greater life in society. We also provide to each the love and support needed to keep their families together.

Fostering is only an interim period whereby the children return to their parents when conditions improve. Very often, children return to their parents. This may be at the request of the children, the parent(s) or both.

Our objective is to safeguard the wellbeing of the children, so that they may mature to be responsible, loving and caring adults. We feel this is best achieved through close supervision of families coupled with adequate counselling, support and encouragement.

Our mission is to help the children to have the motivation for learning and to be responsible for their own lives - e.g. responsible in their studies, responsible for the choices they make and their choice to be happy, to be independent and learn how to cope with the difficulties and problems that they face in their families.

Therefore, Assunta Children Society is not a residential home for children. It is a centre for children to experience care, love and help to grow to become well integrated and mature persons. We try to provide holistic education, for example, self-development, conselling, food and clothing.
